Description READ TO RISE is a registered non-profit organisation, founded in 2013, with the aim of making a significant impact in improving youth literacy in South Africa. As our name suggests, we believe that every child needs to be able to read in order to rise in their educational and personal development. We are an official partner of the national Department of Basic Education who have endorsed our programmes. The problem we face in our under-resourced communities is that our learners are not reading enough. Children in Grades 1-4 should be reading 40-50 books per year. In schools in our disadvantaged communities, children are reading only 1-2 books per year. Two troubling realities contribute to this low level of reading, 90% of schools do not have adequately stocked libraries with relevant books. In addition, most children have never owned a book and there are no books in their homes. By buying this book you ensure that an underprivileged child gets an Oaky book as well.
Delivery
We deliver all around the UK using DHL and Parcelforce. Standard delivery will take 1-5 working days to reach you. However, once the order is received, we will contact you to give you a more precise timescale. Usually, we will deliver the next day, subject to the date and time of when the order is received and the product.
Orders placed during the weekend will be processed the following Monday for delivery the following day. In the case of Bank Holidays, your order will be processed the next working day and delivered the following working day.
Remote areas: For orders to some addresses, especially in the Highlands of Scotland and Offshore, next day delivery options are not available, and delivery can take several days. Saturday delivery is unavailable for these areas.
